In recent years, we have been working on developing a professional discourse on the subject of Heritage Interpretation in Israel, on creating a professional language, and on developing professional training programs. For the coming year, we will hold an academic workshop of 16 hours at the University of Haifa.
The workshop will be part of the Heritage Curatorship program, and will be focused on introducing basic concepts of interpretation, as well as practical experience in analyzing and developing effective interpretation. The workshop is open to all museum and site personnel interested in specializing in the field of heritage interpretation.
The workshop will be coordinated and moderated by Dr. Yael Bamberger, who coordinates the activities of the inter-organizational team of promoting interpretation in Israel, and deals with interpretation in museums and sites, both academically and practically.
The workshop is intended for professional from museums, heritage sites, parks and gardens, conservation people, curators, architects and exhibition designers, educators and multimedia people in the field of museums and heritage.
The workshop will include four sessions and will take place on Tuesdays from 12:00 – 16:00 on the University of Haifa campus or at Zoom, depending on the condition of the Corona (exact details will be provided later).
Dates of meetings: 3/11/20, 17/11/20, 22/12/20, 12/1/21.
Fees: 600 ILS
Graduates of the workshop will be given a certificate from the Council for the Preservation of Heritage Sites in Israel.
Applicants interested in attending the workshop are asked to submit an essay of 150-100 words with a professional background and/or a professional need to participate in the workshop’ as well as CV through this Form till 10/9/20.
The number of participants is limited to 20, to allow workshop work and discussion.
