The Israeli heritage interpretation organization – Interpret IL (Hamsarah) – is targeted for professionals of heritage sites, national parks, zoos, museums, and visitor centers, who are practiced on meaning-making of heritage values for visitors.
Professionals who are partners of creating interpretation include all the people who take part in the design, plan, build, preservation, conservation and operation of cultural and natural heritage sites: architects, designers, curators, conservers, educators, multimedia professions, tourism guides, and advertisement persons. Together, they are all create the Interpret IL community.
Interpret IL is a relatively young organization. Only in 2016, representatives from major heritage organizations gathered to establish the community. Today, it includes all relevant the leading bodies: the Ministry of Jerusalem and Heritage, the National Parks and Nature Reserves, the Council for Conservation of Heritage Sites in Israel, Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael Jewish National Fund, the Ministry of Defense Museums unit, Israel Antiquities Authority, the Society for the protection of Nature in Israel, ICOM Israel, ICOMOS Israel, and the University of Haifa.
